Biography
Jelvine is currently a lecturer of the Bachelor of Applied Management at ATMC New Zealand.
Jelvine has a Masters in Business Management. Her undergraduate studies focused on marketing. She came to New Zealand in 2015, completed a Diploma in Business level 7, a Diploma in Adult and Tertiary Teaching, and recently became a Certified Associate in Project Management.
Her teaching experience spans eight years which started as a part time university lecturer at the Lyceum of the Philippines University in Manila whilst working full-time in the industry. In New Zealand Jelvine has taught business and management courses at levels 5, 6 and 7.
A strong believer that experience is the best teacher, Jelvine has an extensive overseas work experience in different industries ranging from import and export, agriculture, immigration and tourism doing marketing work, to managing government and housing projects. This forms a huge part in her teaching style.
As an adult educator, she facilitates learning to make it more meaningful and useful to students. Her goal is for learners to discover and capitalise on their full potential and help create opportunities for themselves. She loves what she is doing because of the reciprocal learning she gets from her students and feels fulfilled to see them achieve milestones.
When she’s not in the classroom, you will find her doing different ministries at church, spending time with family, having a nice cup of coffee whilst reading a good book, exploring different places, or simply having a chat with her plants in the garden or the worms in the compost bin.
