Biography
Iain McKenzie teaches subjects in the Bachelor of Applied Arts degree sharing his extensive knowledge and experience in film production.
With a Bachelors of Arts with Honours in Motion Picture Medium, Iain also holds a Certificate in Television and Broadcast Studies and Diploma in Adult Teaching.
Iain has studied and worked in the film industry for over twenty years and has extensive experience in the media world. After gaining honours in cinematography, he continued to develop his skills as a creative artist and a technically savvy professional through the dynamic roles he has undertaken. His experience as an artist ranges from being a successful live performer (in music and television), to a specialised professional in post-production film.
Originally from South Africa, Iain has been managing, tutoring and lecturing in film production for over 5 years at ATMC (and formerly EDENZ Colleges) covering all aspects of film production and theory – both technically and academically. Iain’s skills include producing and enhancing media images, with a passion and enthusiasm for telling stories using ‘cinematic language’.
When he’s not teaching at ATMC you will find Iain spending time with his family or undertaking some sort of physical activity including running, surfing fishing or just playing video games.
Research Activities:
Iain has been involved in a number of small undertakings (film and digital media projects) that focus on experimenting with different technologies and theories in order to bring that knowledge back into the classroom.
