Vibrant culture
New Zealand is a bi-cultural nation underpinned by the 1840 Treaty of Waitangi that promised equal rights, protection and status for Māori and non-Māori. Today, you’ll find Māori culture embedded in the country’s arts, language and even the accents of New Zealanders. The country has a vibrant arts, culture and music scene and is renowned for its outstanding food and wine offerings. The country’s south pacific location and stunning natural environment has shaped New Zealanders' love of the outdoors, sport and their independent, can-do attitude.
